What Is a Favicon?
A favicon is the small icon shown in browser tabs, bookmarks and search results. Browsers look for /favicon.ico by default, and an ICO file can hold several sizes so the sharpest one is used.
This tool builds a real .ico with 16×16, 32×32 and 48×48 images, plus a 48×48 PNG. Upload the ICO to your site root and add a link tag if needed. Square images with a simple design look best at 16 px.
